Medical Center and Education Project

This project will consist of two elements. A primary care clinic, offered on a payscale basis, to the local community of Kolfe-Keranio, and an education center. The clinic will offer basic care including pregnancy malaria, well-child visits, waterborne diseases, and prevention techniques. The educational seminars will teach the local population about prevention of HIV/AIDS, malaria, water santiation, and other infectious diseases. Through these two methods, BNCO aims to reach out to the community and increase their understanding of infectious diseases. Currently there is a stigma regarding AIDS and its transmission, which has alienated the children in BNCO's Sponsorship Program, from their community. With the educational seminars, BNCO wishes to rid the community of this stigma, and work with them in making the children's lives better.

The Ethiopian Government has donated land in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for the clinic to be built. As of now, BNCO has the fencing and guard towers built, and are working on purchasing the rest of the materials to start construction in September. We are still working towards our goal of $75,000.00 to finish the construction and start the clinic. Thanks to everyone for their support!

Below are the most recent pictures of the clinic's development. Please check back for more updates!
